The PHAROSPHERE is ready for what comes next…

The fitness industry moves in waves and trends. If you’re paying attention you can feel the temperature shift. The pendulum swings between “go hard or go home” and “stay home in a warm bubble bath,” and the industry markets both ends hard so the money keeps moving. Just when you thought you had enough shoes for every modality, it turns out you also needed an ice bath and a hyperbaric chamber to go with them.

When the industry is in “hard” mode we’re encouraged to compete and push our bodies to the extreme—pure best-mode adrenaline. When it’s in soft mode the conversation turns to longevity, early nights, and self-care.

In 2026 an interesting phenomenon is occurring: both are happening at the same time. We’ve finally realised one cannot exist without the other. The real goal is longevity. To achieve it we need lean muscle and a higher VO2 max. And how do we get those things? By working hard.

So while gyms are adding Recovery Zones, we’re also seeing a clear upswing in competition—running races, HYROX, ATHX, Xenom, Wodapalooza and more. They differ in flavour, but they all satisfy the same urge: to be challenged and to accomplish something new. This duality is a good thing. One feeds the other. We can’t do the work if we don’t recover. The relationship is symbiotic, and the result is that we simply get better all round.

It’s not 2010 anymore. We’re less inclined to destroy our bodies and hormones by killing ourselves in the gym every day. We’re more inclined to be measured and educated—knowing the goal, knowing the why, and moving strategically forward.

I also believe that in a world of data centres, AI, “what’s even real?”, war, confusion, political disillusionment and social uncertainty, the simplicity of competing in something physical feels extremely refreshing. Something real that you can touch, feel and finish has new value in a world of fake fuckery. There’s a start, a struggle, and a finish—and that’s a story you can actually believe in.

The great news for us as a business is that this is the space we have always occupied. “The Hybrid Athlete” has become a trend, but it isn’t new. We’ve been preaching it from day one. Now there are simply more avenues to channel that drive into.

All these events demand strength, cardiovascular capability and skill development. They also require a strong mindset and they lean heavily on community. These are the qualities that built PHAROS. For ten years we have been creating the environment—programming, coaching and facility—that lets you develop the body and mind capable of jumping between these different competitions. They are all just extensions of GPP (General Physical Preparedness). Some lean more endurance, some more strength. Our mission has always been to give you access to exactly the multiplicity of training you need.

As we finish the year and move into 2027 we will continue to support you in whatever is on your calendar. HYROX Sims, ATHX Sims, Friday Night Lights—they’re all on our horizon because we want you to feel fulfilled. There is opportunity out there: to excel, to connect, to discover new parts of yourself, to inspire and be inspired. Our goal is to be your greatest ally in that pursuit so that we all live long, active and nourishing lives—wherever the road takes us. Muscles and Miles

See you in the gym.
